Pinned Down

jewelrydesign

I impulsively reorganized my schedule last minute and stumbled upon a class on jewelry fabrication. Since metalworking and jewelry soldering haven't really made my repertoire, I decided these were skills I must learn. So, for our first project, a brooch, I am to design something - anything - within the confines of a 3" x 3" square. Of course, one of my favorite artistic periods of all time, Art Nouveau, has always served as a major influence in my work. So I decided to take a cue from some of the most beautiful jewelry pieces I've ever seen, of course hailing from this era. Sketches and final to come soon - this is just a starting-point inspiration board :)
